Director Eleanor Sharpe and Producer Nicholas Byrd have brought to life the compelling story of the Tour de Femme, the women’s counterpart to the Tour de France, in their powerful feature documentary. In the 1980s, amidst entrenched French misogyny, these extraordinary athletes battled not only grueling terrain but also systemic sexism, fighting for recognition in a male-dominated sport. Their courageous efforts paved the way for the professional female cyclists we celebrate today.
This is the third film I have collaborated on with Waterbyrd Films and cannot wait to share streaming and screening dates.
