I've set myself a challenge to post weekly spontaneous piano improvisations/compositions, for one year! As soon as the microphone and camera are switched on, I play whatever thought/mood/feeling is present. The real challenge is not allowing myself to play things which are familiar; trying to be completely present and in the moment. It requires a lot of micro-second thinking ahead, to not fall into familiar patterns, phrases, harmonies etc. After one year, I will have 52 improvisations, which I will then select the best of, develop them further, and then create an album of piano compositions.
